This site is a child of my original blog One Parking Lot. I decided to put up a new site for all my travels, gastronomical trips, and adventures. This will probably fall short of most of the travel blogs you follow. I may not be able to feature a lot of famous destinations although I wish I have the resources to do that. But I will travel as much as I can and as long as I live, that I can assure you.
Traveling, to me, is more than just booking a flight, grabbing that backpack and going to far places. It is a mindset. I can go to a nearby restaurant, or stay at home and read a book or watch a travel show, or visit the newest cafe in town, and still feel like I had traveled. Traveling is beyond what our feet can reach or our eyes can see, tastier than trying new food, and braver than jumping off the cliff. It is a journey for the soul. It is a phenomenal opportunity to walk, fly, run and swim the world we live in. It lets us discover God’s awesomeness in each person we meet, in any experience, and in each place we go to. It generously allows us to rediscover ourselves during the process. It sends us back home (or not) with a grateful heart and desire to do it again. It leaves us in awe making us grateful for life and the air we breathe. It humbles us to see the dominion of God’s grace over all the earth and beyond and how they all work together in harmony.
And above all, it shows us how little we are yet equally reminds us of how precious we really are.
My main goal in writing is to bring you with me the closest way I can. Let me share these words from Anthony Bourdain. I couldn’t have said it any better.
It was never my intention to provide audiences with “everything” they needed to know about a place—or even a balanced or comprehensive overview. I am a storyteller. I go places, I come back. I tell you how the places made me feel. Through the use of powerful tools like great photography, skillful editing, sound mixing, color correction, music (which is often composed specifically for the purpose) and brilliant producers, I can—in the very best cases—make you feel a little bit like I did at the time. At least I hope so. It’s a manipulative process. It’s also a deeply satisfying one.
Join me as I park my thoughts and experiences on this site.
